Miller-Valentine Group Volunteers to Keep the Midlands Beautiful

October 24, 2013 / By Crystl Zimmer, Project Assistant

Employees with Miller-Valentine Group recently volunteered through the United Way of the Midlands to assist Keep the Midlands Beautiful by picking up trash in and around the Martin Luther King Jr. Park located in Five Points. The mission of Keep the Midlands Beautiful is to engage, inspire, and educate the Midlands to invest in Richland and Lexington Counties through litter prevention, recycling, and beautification.

Miller-Valentine Associates volunteered with the group on a Friday afternoon and were tasked with picking up the trash accumulated in the creek bed that runs through the center of the park. “It’s wonderful to have business partners like Miller-Valentine that partner with Keep the Midlands Beautiful to give back to the community through public service” Jacq Buck executive director of Keep the Midlands Beautiful said. “Due to their efforts, 320 lbs of trash were removed from Martin Luther King Jr. Park”.

Miller-Valentine has been an active supporter of the United Way and has participated in their fundraising and community service efforts for over twenty years.
