States in the number of Interstate highways intersecting
within the region. The city of Columbia is between
Miami and New York at the intersection of interstate
26, 20 and 77. Interstate 77 runs north to Charlotte
and north to Virginia. Interstate 26 connects to
Charleston and on to Asheville, NC. Interstate
20 heads to El Paso, TX. Also close to Columbia
is interstate 85, which connects the region to
